We recently had two
e-mails from people who had been approached from Internet faudsters.
One claimed that a friend lay seriously ill in the Eventmed hospital
and needed urgent surgery. Without the money they wanted they would
not operate and the man would die. Eventmed is only a training
company and has no hospital. All care in the UK is available on the
National Health Service at no charge. The second was asked to
process an Eventmed Death Certificate. In the UK death certificates
are issued by the Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
Hospitals do NOT issued death certificates. Please do not be fooled.

Eventmed UK Ltd now has
two mannikins that breathe, have pulses, and accept advanced
procedures. They were first used for the double week-end PHEC
course.
Developments in Equestrian
Medical Officer training
There is talk of a one
day refresher course being needed for Race Course Medical Officers
each year. If this comes to pass then we shall be offering these
courses around the country at week-ends, with a different venue on
the Saturday and the Sunday. Keep an eye on this site for further
information

Eventmed UK Ltd
Several new characters
are now making their debut at Eventmed training venues. We have
continued to invest in training equipment and have recently bought a
range of training mannikins. These include one with a tracheostomy
so that medical personnel can practice the resuscitation of a
"neck-breathing" patient.
John is the most
sophisticated mannikin we currently possess. He can have a variable
respiratory rate, blood pressure and pulse rate. He can have
anaphylactic reactions where his tongue swells and his vocal cords
become swollen forcing the trainee to perform a surgical airway on
him. He can develop a pneumothorax which can be treated by needle
decompression or by chest drain. His arrhythmias will respond to the
drugs and shocks that are given him. He provides excellent training
scenarios and most people get to really like him!
Caspar on the other hand
is a bit of fun. The company mascot, Caspar is a CPR training
mannikin of the canine variety!. Just to prove that 30:2 will work
on everyone & everything!
